Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) arrested five people following a lengthy drug offences investigation.
The Nottawasaga CSCU began a drug trafficking investigation in June 2021.
On Oct. 21, 2021, Nottawasaga, CSCU obtained a search warrant for two Toronto locations, a Wasaga Beach location, and two vehicles in relation to their investigation.
As a result of this investigation with the assistance of Dufferin CSCU, Caledon CSCU, Huronia West CSCU, OPP Canine Unit, OPP Highway Safety Division (HSD) Crime Unit, OPP Emergency Response Unit (ERT), Urban Search and Rescue Response Team (UCRT), Toronto Police 31 Division Major Crime Unit and Toronto Police Canine Unit, the following five adults were arrested and charged.
The street value for the drugs is estimated at over $60,000.
A 29-year-old female of Wasaga Beach was arrested and charged with the following:
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
• possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
The female was released and scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on Nov. 30, 2021.
A 37-year-old male, of Wasaga Beach was arrested and charged with the following:
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - heroin
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - codeine
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - oxycodone
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - MDMA
• careless storage of firearm - three counts
• unauthorized possession of a firearm - three counts
• knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm - three counts
• possession of a firearm knowing serial number has been tampered with
• possession of a firearm contrary to order - three counts
The male was held pending a bail on Oct. 22, 2021.
A 39-year-old male, of Essa Township was arrested and charged with the following:
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - heroin
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - codeine
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - oxycodone
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - MDMA
• careless storage of firearm - three counts
• unauthorized possession of a firearm - three counts
• knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm - three counts
The male was held pending a bail on Oct. 22, 2021.
A 30-year-old male, of Toronto was arrested and charged with the following:
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - heroin
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - codeine
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - oxycodone
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - MDMA
• careless storage of firearm - three counts
• unauthorized possession of a firearm - three counts
• knowledge of unauthorized Possession of a firearm - three counts
The male was held pending a bail on Oct. 22, 2021.
A 36-year-old male, of Brampton was arrested and charged with the following:
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - heroin
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - codeine
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - oxycodone
• possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - MDMA
• careless storage of firearm - three counts
• unauthorized possession of a firearm - three counts
• knowledge of unauthorized Possession of a firearm - three counts
The male was held pending a bail on Oct. 22, 2021.
