Police seized drugs and a gun during a traffic stop Saturday in downtown Barrie.
Shortly after 2:30 a.m., city police stopped a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act offence at Dunlop and Mulcaster streets.
The three male occupants of the vehicle were removed and a search turned up suspected fentanyl, cocaine, Canadian currency, and a fully loaded semi-automatic firearm that had a high-capacity magazine, police said in a news release.
The driver, a 21-year-old, of Bradford, and the passengers, both 23 years old, of Barrie, are facing charges including possession and trafficking in fentanyl and cocaine as well as firearms-related offences.
Two of the accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing, while the other was released on an undertaking and has an Aug. 30 court date in Barrie.
