Head-on collision closes Highway 26

SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP - On Wednesday, Aug. 29 2018 at approximately 11:42 a.m., members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a traffic collision on Highway 26 near Horseshoe Valley Road involving several vehicles.

An initial OPP investigation thus far has revealed that two motor vehicles collided head on injuring four occupants which resulted in three of them being sent to local hospital and one being airlifted to a Toronto area hospital.

Police presently have Highway 26 closed between George Johnston Road and Horseshoe Valley Road to investigate the crash. 

The investigation into this collision is continuing with the assistance of our Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit.

Highway 26 will remain closed until further notice and more information on this collision and road closure will be released when available.
