Knife-wielding teens arrested after stealing three dogs

INNISFIL –   South Simcoe Police Service officers have charged four teenagers following a break and enter and robbery involving knives.

On Saturday, March 14, 2020 around 5 p.m., police were called to an Innisfil home for a report of a break and enter in progress. The victims were able to safely leave the residence and call 911.

When officers arrived, they learned that four suspects had entered the home, brandished knives and threatened the residents before stealing three dogs. Officers checking the area located the suspects with the dogs and took the four teens into custody.

No one was injured in the incident.  The suspects and victims were known to each other.

Four Innisfil teenagers - two boys and two girls - were charged with the following offences: 

  • Robbery  
  • Break and enter  
  • Utter threats 
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose  
  • Mischief under $5,000 

The teens were released with a future court date. The stolen dogs were picked up by Animal Control and taken to a kennel.

From Friday, March 13, 2020 to Monday, March 16, 2020, South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to 163 calls for service.
