A recent traffic stop in Barrie has led to numerous charges for two Bradford residents.
On Sept. 6, Barrie police say officers stopped a vehicle they believed was being operated by an impaired driver.
Police seized a fully loaded handgun, drugs and cash.
A 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman have been charged with the following:
- Careless storage of a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
- Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
The man was also charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance, possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, and having care or control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available.
The man was remanded into custody following a bail hearing, while the woman was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
