Man transported to hospital after reporting assault to police

PENETANGUISHENE - Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched at 3:37 p.m. June 1, 2018 to a report of an assault at a Burke Street residence in Penetanguishene. Attending officers located and spoke with a male at that residence who was being treated by Simcoe County Paramedics for his injuries and later transported to Georgian Bay General Hospital. The male was then transported by paramedics to a Toronto area hospital for further treatment. Members of the OPP Central Region Crime Unit are now assisting in the investigation.
