A man wanted on a Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) warrant is facing numerous charges after being pulled over Friday in Oro-Medonte.
At about 3:40 p.m., officers were on Highway 400 North when they saw a vehicle being driven at a high rate of speed. During a traffic stop, police determined the driver was impaired and wanted on a warrant issued by the CBSA, Orillia OPP said in a news release.
Timothy Persaud, 38, of Brampton, has been charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired (alcohol and drugs)
- Operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus)
- Speeding
- Driving without a licence
- Failure to notify about a change of address
- Failure to apply for a permit on becoming an owner
- Operating a motor vehicle without insurance
