Man wanted on CBSA warrant arrested in Oro-Medonte

A man wanted on a Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) warrant is facing numerous charges after being pulled over Friday in Oro-Medonte.

At about 3:40 p.m., officers were on Highway 400 North when they saw a vehicle being driven at a high rate of speed. During a traffic stop, police determined the driver was impaired and wanted on a warrant issued by the CBSA, Orillia OPP said in a news release.

Timothy Persaud, 38, of Brampton, has been charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired (alcohol and drugs)
  • Operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus)
  • Speeding
  • Driving without a licence
  • Failure to notify about a change of address
  • Failure to apply for a permit on becoming an owner
  • Operating a motor vehicle without insurance
