Investigators have released new information in the case of a missing man from the Southampton area.

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Saugeen Shores Police Service (SSPS) are seeking public assistance in locating Brendan Martin, 32 years old, who was reported missing to police on January 20, 2025.

Brendan is described as an Indigenous male, 6' (183 cm) and 195 lbs (88 kg) with a thin build. He was last seen in Southampton wearing a black/navy winter coat and tan-coloured work boots. Brendan has connections to Owen Sound, Barrie and the Saugeen Shores First Nation communities.

Some of Brendan's personal effects, such as a guitar and backpack, also remain outstanding. New photos of Brendan and his missing property are attached to this media release. (see above)

With heavy snow and ice beginning to melt, investigators are urging residents to thoroughly check their properties for signs of Brendan or his belongings, including any outbuildings or sheds.

The OPP Criminal Investigation Branch is now overseeing the investigation by the SSPS, as foul play cannot be ruled out in Brendan's disappearance.

Anyone who has had any contact with Brendan Martin, or has any information regarding his whereabouts, is asked to contact the SSPS at 519-832-2500 or the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
