Morning break-in at lakeshore has police searching for known suspect

'There hasn't been an arrest made yet, but investigators are aware of who they're looking for,' say police official

Barrie police are investigating after they responded to a call at around 6:30 a.m., Friday, about a break-and-enter in the vicinity of Lakeshore Drive and Victoria Street.

Witnesses reported seeing canine officers searching the area at a plaza at 11 Victoria St., near Lakeshore Drive.

“There hasn't been an arrest made yet, but investigators are aware of who they're looking for,” Barrie police communications co-ordinator Jennett May told BarrieToday.

Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to call Barrie police at 705-725-7025.
