Motorcycle crash victim succumbs to his injuries

A 45-year-old Listowel man involved in a serious motorcycle crash last week near Bradford Greenhouses Garden Gallery has died from his injuries

A 45-year-old Listowel man involved in a serious motorcycle crash last week near Bradford Greenhouses Garden Gallery has died from his injuries.

Barrie police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon told BarrieToday Saturday morning that “the driver of the motorcycle who was seriously injured earlier this week in the collision on County Rd. 90 passed away late Thursday.”

Emergency crews had responded to a call at about 9:10 a.m., Tuesday, regarding a serious collision involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle.

According to Leon that day, the pickup truck was stopped westbound at the lights at County Road 90 and Townline Road/County Road 27 when the driver of the motorcycle collided with the back of the truck.

“The conditions were a little wet in that area from a little bit of drizzle and it would appear the operator of the motorcycle lost control, was ejected from the bike, slid along the pavement, and struck the rear of the stopped pickup truck,” Leon told BarrieToday on Tuesday.

The driver of the motorcycle  was originally transported to local hospital with life-threatening injuries before being transported to a Toronto area trauma centre.
