Nottawasaga OPP officers are investigating a "sudden death" in New Tecumseth near Victoria Street.
A 38-year-old person has been confirmed dead at the scene, where police were called Dec. 31 at 12:51 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing and being overseen by the Criminal Investigation Branch in conjunction with the Nottawasaga OPP major crime unit.
The OPP says there will be an increased police presence within the area for the "foreseeable future."
Police are asking members of the public to avoid the area as the investigation continues. Updates will be provided as necessary.
