Barrie resident Autumn Shaganash has been missing since early June and city police hope new photos will help people as the search for the young woman continues.
Shaganash, 26, was last seen leaving a family member's home on Friday, June 9 in Barrie's Allandale neighbourhood, near Burton Avenue and Frank's Way.
The following Monday afternoon, on June 12, local police were notified and a full report was taken, launching a missing person's investigation.
Police released two new photos on Wednesday that they were given by the woman's family.
However, there have been no other developments in the case as to her whereabouts.
“Unfortunately, there are no updates at this point," said Barrie police communications co-ordinator Jennett Mays. “The family asked that we share the additional photos and investigators hope it may generate some new information from the public."
Shaganash's sister, Lili-Anne Moore, also told BarrieToday on Wednesday “there hasn't been much since we last spoke" on July 14.
Moore said she believes local police were going to do another drone search this week.
Several police searches have occurred since Shaganash's disappearance, including Sunnidale Park and downtown Barrie in particular, but as police have said in the past, she seems to have “vanished into thin air.”
There has been no communication with Shaganash since a text to her sister that read “can you come pick me up?" on June 10.
Moore previously told BarrieToday that she responded about three minutes later to that text, but Shaganash’s phone had been turned off.
Police and the family have stated this is out of the ordinary for Shaganash.
Early in the investigation, the family said they believed Shaganash could have fallen victim to human trafficking.
Police have previously stated that while there's no proof that human trafficking is at play, they say investigators are looking into every possible scenario.
