Police notice increase in vehicle break-ins

Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are asking for the public's assistance in solving recent theft from vehicle incidents in Tiny Township, Ontario.

The thefts took place sometime overnight from Aug. 15 to Aug. 16, 2017 on Rue Lafontaine Road West between Chemin Theresa Road and Rue Eric Road in Lafontaine Tiny Township, Ontario.

Suspect(s) entered several vehicles parked on private driveways and made off with a purse, wallet, keys and personal items. The vehicles involved in these incidents were reported to be unlocked.

OPP officers would like to remind residents of Lock it or Lose it tips such as:

  • Rolling up your vehicle windows;
  • Keep your valuables out of sight, such as wallets/purses, gps navigation units, any currency or better yet, remove them entirely from the vehicle
  • Lock your doors; and
  • Pocket your keys.
