Barrie police are trying to locate a missing 39-year-old woman who hasn’t been seen for more than two weeks. Identified only as Tammy, she was last seen at the home of a friend in the Ferndale Drive and Livingstone Street area on Sept. 13, 2023.

Barrie police are trying to locate a missing 39-year-old woman who hasn’t been seen in almost two weeks.

Identified only as Tammy, city police say the local resident was reported missing on Sunday night (Sept. 24).

She was last seen on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at the home of a friend in the area of Ferndale Drive and Livingstone Street, near the city limits in northwest Barrie.

“(Her) family are concerned for her as they have not heard from her in two weeks,” Barrie police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon told BarrieToday. “It is out of character for her not to connect with family.”

Anyone with information about Tammy's whereabouts or who sees her is asked to call Barrie police at 705-725-7025.

City police are also investigating another missing persons case involving a local woman who has not been seen for more than three months.

Autumn Shaganash, 26, was last seen leaving a family member's home on Friday, June 9 in Barrie's Allandale neighbourhood, near Burton Avenue and Frank's Way. She was reported missing on June 12. Shaganash turned 27 on Sept. 19, but her family has not heard from her in weeks.

City police say there is no indication the two cases are related in any way.

"Each and every missing person case is treated independently and there is certainly nothing to suggest anything to connect the two," Leon said.

There have been several police searches since Shaganash's disappearance, including Sunnidale Park and downtown Barrie, but as police have said in the past, she seems to have “vanished into thin air.” There have also been searches in downtown Toronto.
