City police say a collectibles store was robbed of approximately $1,000 worth of cash and trading cards in Barrie’s south-end last night.

According to Barrie police, on Tuesday at 10:02 p.m., officers responded to a break-and-enter at a business located at Anne Street and Jacobs Terrace.

From the investigation that followed, police learned the entry occurred at 9:35 p.m. after the suspects smashed the front door and gained access to the trading card and collectible business.

Once inside, currency, trading card packages and single cards were stolen, according to police.

The estimated value of the stolen items is $1,000. Damage to the door has yet to be determined.

Police are trying to identify two suspects who were observed by video surveillance, which captured the break-in.

The first suspect is described as wearing a red sweater with the hood up, black pants, black and white Nike shoes, a light face mask (possibly a medical mask), and was carrying a black garbage bag.

The second suspect wore a light-coloured jacket and hoodie, dark pants, dark footwear, black balaclava covering the head and face, blue gloves, and had a white satchel bag with black straps as well as a green bag.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes the description of either of these suspects to contact the investigating officer at [email protected].
