The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating following the death of a man who was bitten by an OPP dog in Midland.
According to the SIU, Southern Georgian Bay OPP officers responded Oct. 13 to a gun-related call involving two men. One man fled the scene, and he was tracked down and bitten by a police dog.
The 45-year-old man was arrested.
The SIU says he died in hospital on Sunday.
The death was reported to the SIU the next day.
Three investigators have been assigned to the case, and a post-mortem is scheduled for Wednesday.
