Suspect makes quick getaway with cash, scratch tickets

Officers arrived eight minutes after the suspect entered the store and both he and the vehicle had already left the area

Barrie Police is looking to identify a male who is responsible for a middle of the night break and enter into a westside Barrie gas station.

On Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018 at approximately 1:10 a.m., the male suspect attended the Macewen Gas Station located at 652 Dunlop St. W., in the City of Barrie. Video surveillance shows the male park an unknown vehicle along Miller Drive before walking past the car wash and towards the front of the store. He is seen picking up a large rock and using it to break the glass on one of the front doors to gain entry.

Once inside the store, the suspect made his way behind the cash area and removed several trays of scratch tickets along with a tray containing float money. The male they left the store returning to the vehicle, last seen driving off northbound on Miller Drive. Officers arrived eight minutes after the suspect entered the store and both he and the vehicle had already left the area.

    •    Wearing a black balaclava, white t-shirt, black shorts, black running shoes and work gloves
