City police are investigating a stabbing that occurred near Innisdale Secondary School in the Bayview Drive and Little Avenue area on Wednesday that left a male in his mid-teens injured and in hospital.
There is no word on the victim's condition.
Police were dispatched to the scene at about 2:34 p.m.
"A search is being conducted in the area and a canine unit was on the scene," Barrie police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon told BarrieToday.
He said there was an "edged weapon" involved in the attack, and the investigation is continuing.
Police could be seen in a parking lot close to the school, as well as at an adjacent business.
