NEWS RELEASE
BARRIE POLICE SERVICE
*************************
A 38-year-old Barrie man attracted a lot of attention Saturday evening.
He attended a licensed establishment on Anne Street but was refused service due to already being in a highly intoxicated state.
The male was persistent however, and remained outside the business asking other customers to purchase alcohol for him. In addition to making a nuisance of himself, witnesses described that he was stumbling through the parking lot and had walked in front of several moving cars.
The male was arrested for his own safety and taken to the Barrie Police Station to sober up.
The male had plenty of company as alcohol got the better of a few other Barrie folks last night.
One 58-year-old man was apprehended at the 5 points, staggering through the busy intersection and barely able to walk and in the west end of Barrie a 31-year-old male was arrested after he attempted to gain access to a home he believed to be his...but was not, and was not even on the same side of town as his.
Both males were delivered to the Barrie Police Station to sleep it off.
