A traffic stop early this morning in Barrie has resulted in numerous drug charges against a Scarborough man.
Shortly before 1 a.m., July 26, Barrie police say officers saw a vehicle being driven on Bayfield Street without its full headlight system. The vehicle was pulled over on Sophia Street East.
Police said a search of the vehicle turned up suspected cocaine, fentanyl and oxycodone.
The 22-year-old driver has been charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance (cocaine), possession of a Schedule 1 substance (fentanyl), possession of a Schedule 1 substance (oxycodone), possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl), possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (oxycodone), failure to comply with an undertaking, driving without proper headlights, obstructing a plate, failing to have an insurance card, having care or control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available, and driving a vehicle with cannabis in open original packaging.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
