A woman was seriously injured and taken to hospital by air ambulance after a car and an SUV collided on Essa Road, just south of Anne Street, Thursday afternoon.
Barrie police responded to the crash at 2:45 pm.
An Ornge helicopter landed near the crash scene.
The Barrie police traffic unit is on the scene and the road will be closed while police conduct an investigation.
