Youth approached in 'aggressive manner' by man in older car: OPP

Orillia OPP says incident happened this morning around 9 a.m. in the area of Line 1 South

A youth was approached in an "aggressive manner" by a man in an older vehicle Wednesday morning in Oro-Medonte, police say.

Ontario Provincial Police are hoping members of the public can help identify the car and its driver.

Just after 9 a.m. on Sept. 11, Orillia OPP officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Line 1 South, just outside Barrie.

The vehicle is described by police as an "older green car."

Police were advised the driver stopped, got out and "started to approach a youth in an aggressive manner," according to an OPP news release.

The driver is described as male, non-white, between 30 to 40 years old, standing about five-foot-six with a slim build.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident, may have dash-cam footage or may have home security systems in the area to review it and contact investigators.

Anyone with information can contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or www.crimestopperssdm.com.
