As life changes, so do the ways we honour our loved ones. Today’s options include burials, celebrations of life, memorialzations, cremations and more. It takes time and effort to be inclusive of all these changes while never losing sight of the empathy and caring services families deserve in their time of need. Adams Funeral Home by Arbor Memorial ensures balance while perfecting all the options.
Arbor Memorial knows that “celebrating a life is truly personal.” The local funeral homes under the Arbor umbrella align with this mandate and receive greater access to personalizing funerals by working under the brand. However, Arbor ensures each community funeral home retains its unique DNA.
Adams Funeral Home was opened by Doug Adams in 2007. Matthew Davis, Licenced Funeral Director and Funeral Home Manager, joined in 2021 when the establishment was acquired by Arbor Memorial.
“I have had the pleasure of working with Arbor for over 15 years. An opportunity came to join Adams as Manager and I have been privileged to do so,” says Davis.
He continues, “We are honoured to be the Barrie areas most trusted funeral provider. We specialize in all aspects of funeral services ranging from simple cremation services to fully traditional. Our modern, spacious and welcoming facilities can host large services in our beautiful chapel with elegant settings for receptions and celebrations of life. Our livestream capabilities are state-of-the art, allowing families and friends to join virtually together. We offer memorialization options that are unique with cremation jewellery, informal visitation facilities and online tributes. Our ample parking allows us to accommodate all who wish to join in remembering a life lost.”
The facilities and amenities are all part of what they consider the most important aspect – service.
“It always and forever come down to service; serving our families with dignity and compassion. This means active listening to ensure their wishes are carried out the way they intended and offering options to meet every family’s expectations and expenses.”
Service also means giving back to the community, which Adams Funeral Home does through sponsorships, donations, volunteering, and leadership.
Davis explains, “We are a preferred sponsor for the Barrie Colts and the Baycats sport organization. We work closely with all the religious institutions to support their congregations. Adams is heavily involved with hospice. All of our directors are involved with the community in some form. Our future plans include fundraisers, drives and service club memberships.
The funeral home thanks the community for its support and referrals, and the families that “have trusted us to walk them through one of the most difficult times of their lives and to honour their loved ones with the utmost respect.” Adams is pleased by their industry reputation for service to families and in the community, and looks forward to continuing to show why that reputation is so well deserved.
Adams Funeral Home looks forward to meeting the changing needs of families by offering the most up-to-date services alongside traditional offerings, all in a spacious facility designed to support families in need.
