In an exciting collaboration with Aecon Group and CarbiCrete, and managed by Innocon, a member of Lafarge, the group has embarked on a trial at Aecon’s Training and Innovation Centre that intersects a net-zero future with the construction industry in Canada.
“Testing low-carbon construction materials provides a great opportunity for shared knowledge and learn about how these materials could be adopted on a broader scale,” said Prabh K. The question has always been whether concrete can truly be carbon neutral. The journey towards answering that is underway as they recently poured Lafarge Canada's advanced ECOPact low-carbon concrete mix, marking a pivotal first step in our ambitious project. This pour is not just about laying a physical foundation; it's about laying the groundwork for sustainable practices that can become the industry standard.
