A quiet little neighbourhood on the east end of town is home to a popular little kitchen serving up big orders of Thai food.
Supannee Ferguson opened A Little Thai Kitchen in May, but may be recognizable to folks from before that.
When the east-end eatery was known as The Pack, Ferguson rented space from the owner at the time to get her delicious goods out to customers.
“I would usually work at The Pack on Wednesdays and did really good; people loved our food,” Ferguson said. “After a while, the owner of The Pack asked me if I wanted to take over the store and here we are.”
Located at 164 Napier St., A Little Thai Kitchen serves many different Thai dishes from panang curry, masaman curry, wonton soup, homemade spring rolls and the restaurant’s specialty, which is pad thai.
“We have a lot of customers come for the pad thai,” Ferguson said. “It is very popular and is one of the things we sold the most of since we started cooking a while ago.”
Ferguson open up the restaurant in May, but has been working out of farmers' markets in Barrie and Orillia for a few years.
A Little Thai Kitchen is run by Ferguson and her husband with one helper. And despite the small crew, Ferguson said she's loving being part of the community and will continue to help people out with whatever they need.
“We do takeout, dine-in and even catering,” she said. “So far, we enjoy it and everyone is really nice and likes our food. I love to cook and we hope more people come in and try the dishes we have.”
A Little Thai Kitchen is open Tuesday to Friday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
