Those who know John Youngblut describe him as being extremely kind, caring and someone who can always be counted on.
He is a recognizable bus driver for Barrie and Orillia Transit, always going above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome while boarding his bus.
He exemplifies genuine care for others, making people of all ages smile and laugh.
After becoming close with John over the years and seeing his consistent generosity, Ally Martin and her daughter Brooklynn decided to nominate him for a BarrieToday Random Act of Kindness to pay it forward.
“He has one of the biggest hearts I’ve ever seen,” Ally shared. “We certainly believe he has a heart of gold.”
“He has become the closest thing to a grandfather my kids have ever had,” she added. “I’ve always wanted to show him how much he is valued and respected. He deserves it.”
BarrieToday was delighted to surprise John with a round of golf for four people at Vespra Hills Golf Club and a $100 gift certificate to Baton Rouge, one of his favourite restaurants.
“I was truly surprised,” John said. “This was very nice of Ally to do and it was a very thoughtful gift. I wasn’t expecting it at all.”
Thank you to our generous sponsor, Vespra Hills Golf Club, for making this Random Act of Kindness possible.
