Born and raised in Bracebridge I attended the University of Western Ontario. In 1989 my family and I moved to Barrie on a company transfer from a major window and door manufacturer. Barrie has been a wonderful place for us to raise our children and now I feel it’s time to give back.
I became an entrepreneur in 1997 when I started my own risk management business in the south end of Barrie. After hard work and perseverance, we built the business up to managing over $20 million in annualized premiums. In my business career, I gained a reputation for being a problem solver, good communicator, team player, hard working, honest, reliable, and fair business man.
I have been involved in community service for over 25 years as both a youth councillor and mentor, and look forward to being continually involved in the community.
I retired in 2012 after a successful career and have enjoyed benefits of financial freedom and spending time with family and our three grandchildren.
Happily married to Joanne for an ongoing 35 years, we have raised our family in Barrie. Our two boys attended Maple Grove Public School, Barrie North Secondary School and Georgian College.
Respect for the taxpayer will top my list of concerns in Barrie. I will work to keep tax increases to a minimal for the foreseeable future. Keeping Barrie moving. Work to create a plan to avoid traffic gridlock, and keep traffic out of our neighbourhoods. Always being business friendly and ensuring everyone knows Barrie is open for business.
When elected, I will be a voice for the people - willing to listen and represent their concerns in the City of Barrie. Ready, qualified, and eager to work for the residences of Ward 8. I have always been goal oriented and future focused, and I am excited to bring this to our City Council.
"Running for council is not about me, it's about you."
