A student or staff member at Bear Creek Secondary School has tested positive for COVID-19, says the school principal.
In a letter to parents from Bear Creek principal Jason Pino, he notes the school was notified by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit "that a student or staff" had tested positive for the virus.
"Our school is working closely with the Simcoe County District School Board and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit and we are taking the necessary steps to prevent the further spread of the virus both in the school and in the community."
Late Friday, the Simcoe Muskoka District Catholic Board reported its first case - at St. John Vianney Catholic School in Barrie.
