LETTER: Barrie's sidewalk plows 'useless'

I read with some amusement the news release on plowing and noted that when it came to sidewalks, it simply said they would be plowed at a certain time.

It would be more accurate to say they “would be churned into a sludgy, unpassable morass.”

I’m sure it’s more expensive to run the snowblowers, but these sidewalk plows are useless. They simply push the snow up the bank and then it falls back in, leaving a single mule (or mountain goat) path to navigate.

It’s challenging at best for able-bodied folks. I feel for those with any level of disability.

Come on, councillors. Clear the sidewalks.
