Don’t miss out this weekend on Canada’s largest outdoor, student-run new car auto show at Georgian’s Barrie Campus June 7 to 9.

The annual Georgian College Auto Show is organized by students enrolled in programs in the Automotive Business School of Canada (ABSC) under the leadership of five dedicated student directors who manage all show tasks, including marketing, sponsorship, recruitment, event logistics, and more.

“We’re very excited to host this year’s auto show. Each student director has worked so hard to make this year the best Georgian College Auto Show yet,” said Luke Reymer, Director of Media and Marketing Relations and ABSC student. “There are quite a few new attractions at this year’s show, and we can’t wait for the community to come check it all out.”

This year’s theme is Redline Revolution to showcase how far the automotive industry has come and the new technology it has to offer, while still celebrating the exciting history of gas engines.

With over 18 car brands coming to show off their newest models, live music, Kid Zone, a Batmobile, and an exotic car experience with more than 50 supercars, there are attractions and activities available for everyone.

New this year

  • Exotic car experience: Come check out more than 50 supercars and talk to their owners. It’s only an extra $5 to check out these cool cars and all the money raised will be going to charity.
  • Pfaff Porsche track experience: Ride in a Porsche 911 around a track with a pro driver and experience the thrill of a fun gas-powered vehicle.
  • 1972 Volkswagen Westfalia camper van: Stop by this vintage vehicle, which was retrofitted by Georgian students and faculty into an electric vehicle.
  • Brampton Batman: The caped crusader will be at the Auto Show with his Batmobile.
  • Live music: Enjoy our food vendors while enjoying some tunes.
  • Grand Touring Automobiles: This car dealership is bringing some exciting vehicles.
  • VINFAST: The new all-electric car company will be showcasing new models.
  • Kia: The car company will be at the Auto Show for the first time.

Back by demand

  • Fun field activities and Kid Zone: Enjoy our bouncy house obstacle course, a dog show, and see vehicles from Canadian Forces Base Borden and Barrie Fire Service.
  • Show and Shine: Love classic and customized cars? Don’t miss this display with different themes each day of the auto show.
  • Smart Adventures mini-bikes: For children ages six to 12, we’ll offer a chance to learn how to ride mini-motorcycles.

Bring the whole family to have an amazing time at the Georgian College Auto Show! If hunger strikes, don’t worry, because there will be food vendors as well as live music to enjoy while you eat.

The Georgian College Auto Show – in its 36th year – has attracted more than 11,000 visitors from across Ontario over the weekend in the past. Guests can expect the Barrie Campus to be buzzing all three days.

“Being a Georgian College Auto Show director is an amazing opportunity to grow as a student and automotive professional and to make great connections,” said Reymer. “You learn a lot about what it’s like to manage a big event, and it’s an invaluable chance as an Automotive Business student to get hands-on learning experience working closely with car brands, community partners and vendors.”

The auto show runs Friday noon to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission is free for those ages 12 and under. General admission tickets are $10, and the exotic car experience is an extra $5.
