The Kidney Foundation’s largest community fundraiser is coming to a Barrie park this weekend.

The Kidney Walk will take place Sunday, Sept. 8 at St. Vincent Park in the city's east end.

The Barrie stop is one of 29 such events that will be happening this month.

"Our community will gather to celebrate the strength of our kidney community," states a news release from the Kidney Foundation of Canada. "They will rally in support of those they love while raising funds to support crucial programs and services to help the thousands of people living with kidney disease."

Organizers say friends, family and members of the "kidney community" will show their support for their loved ones living with kidney disease at the 2024 Kidney Walk.

Sunday's local event begins at 9 a.m. with registration, followed by the walk itself at 10 a.m.

St. Vincent Park is located at 60 Blake St., at the foot of St. Vincent Street along Kempenfelt Bay.
