A Collingwood radio celebrity will take a star turn in locally produced film.

Melanie Case, of 95.1 The Peak FM morning show Talk of the Town, is set to star as the Femme Fatale in an old-style detective movie. Shot in a Neo Noir style in the month of September at a variety of Simcoe County locations, Good Grief It’s Friday is targeting a spring 2020 release.

Playing the part of Betty Perske, Melanie said, “I’m honoured to be a part of this intriguing production and look forward to the adventure my character takes me on.”

The film is written and will be directed by longtime television producer/director/writer Mike Patterson. Good Grief It’s Friday marks his feature film directorial debut.

Mike said, “I’m blown away by the quality of talent coming together for this project. Particularly satisfying is that more than half of the talented cast members live in Simcoe County.”

John Sandham and Matt McLean, also well known to listeners of 95.1 The Peak FM will appear in the film. Patterson says that there is still room for anyone interested in being a background actor.

More information about the film can be found on the website.
