The Town of Newmarket is bringing back a trail full of ghosts, ghouls and terror with its perennially spooky Halloween event Oct. 28 and 29.

The town will be transforming a portion of the Dave Kerwin Trail for a free event where you can get creeped out. The trail will be transformed with scary decorations, lighting, sound effects and actors in costume.

“We invite you to join us…if you dare,” the town said.

The event has garnered thousands of patrons each year since its inception in 2021. Given its popularity, the town advises arriving early in expectation of a lineup, with the town reserving the right to close the lineup at any time.

Attendees are asked not to wear costumes, be respectful to staff and event materials, and not to touch anything on the trail. It is also recommended that only those ages 10 and older attend, and all children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

“The safety of our staff, sponsors, vendors, actors, volunteers and participants remain our highest priority,” the municipality said.

Parking is limited on-site, but patrons can park on side streets where signs permit. Parking on Woodspring Avenue is not allowed.

The free event will run Oct. 27 and 28 from 7 to 10 p.m, with no pre-registration required. The line will start from the Dave Kerwin trail entrance at Environmental Park, 325 Woodspring Ave.
