There are 41 new COVID-19 cases being reported in schools across Simcoe County today.
There are 126 total active COVID-19 cases being reported by local school boards at Simcoe County schools as of 4 p.m. on Nov. 29.
An outbreak declared on Nov. 26 by the health unit at an unnamed private school has 13 new cases.
St. John Vianney Catholic School in Barrie is reporting eight new cases today, adding to one case and affected classroom previously reported at the school.
The MonAvenir Catholic School Board is reporting one new staff member has tested positive at École secondaire catholique Nouvelle-Alliance in Barrie. This adds to two cases – one staff and one student – previously reported at the school.
La Source Elementary School in Barrie is reporting five student cases today.
Hewitt’s Creek Public School in Barrie is reporting one case and one affected classroom today.
Hyde Park Public School, also in Barrie, is reporting one case and one affected classroom.
W.R. Best Memorial Public School in Shanty Bay is reporting one case and one affected classroom today.
Elmvale District High School has one case today.
Regent Park Public School in Orillia is reporting one case and affected classroom.
Worsley Elementary School in Wasaga Beach has one new case today, which adds to one case previously reported at the school.
One new student case has been reported at ÉÉC Notre-Dame-de-la-Huronie in Collingwood, and one classroom has been affected, adding to one case previously reported at the school.
As of Nov. 15, the board has changed how it is reporting cases on its advisory board, deferring reporting on certain schools to the health unit. There are now five Barrie schools, one Cumberland Beach school, one Everett school and one Ramara Township school that no longer have cases listed on the advisory board, with the health unit reporting cases at:
- Terry Fox Elementary School (eight cases total)
- W.C. Little Elementary School (10 cases total)
- Emma King Public School (nine cases total)
- Maple Grove Public School (12 cases total)
- Ferndale Woods Elementary School (two new today, three cases total)
- Severn Shores Public School (seven cases total)
- Tosorontio Central Public School (three new today, 13 cases total)
- Uptergrove Public School (two new today, three cases total)
The health unit does not report on affected classrooms.
The Simcoe County District School Board has 76 confirmed active cases at 18 schools according to their advisory board. In addition to the cases reported above by the health unit, they are:
- Algonquin Ridge Elementary School in Barrie, one case and one affected classroom
- Hewitt’s Creek Public School in Barrie, one case and one affected classroom
- Hyde Park Public School in Barrie, one case and one affected classroom
- Orchard Park Public School in Orillia, two cases, and one affected classroom.
- Regent Park Public School in Orillia, one case and affected classroom.
- Tecumseth South Central Public School in Tottenham, one case and one affected classroom
- Willow Landing Elementary School in Barrie, one case and one affected classroom.
- W.R. Best Memorial Public School in Shanty Bay, one case and one affected classroom
- Worsley Elementary School in Wasaga Beach has one case
- Elmvale District High School has one case
According to the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, there are currently 24 active cases spread across 12 schools:
- Monsignor Castex Catholic School in Midland has one case and one affected classroom
- Monsignor Clair Catholic School in Barrie is reporting two cases, with two affected classrooms
- Monsignor Lee Catholic School in Orillia is reporting two cases, and one affected classroom
- Our Lady of Grace Catholic School is Angus is reporting one case, and one affected classroom.
- Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Elmvale is reporting one case.
- St. Angela Merici Catholic School in Bradford is reporting two cases and two affected classrooms.
- St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School in Innisfil is reporting one case and one affected classroom.
- St. John Vianney Catholic School in Barrie, nine cases and one affected classroom
- St. Marie of the Incarnation Catholic School in Bradford has two cases, and two classroom affected
- St. Mary's Catholic School in Collingwood is reporting one case, and one affected classroom.
- St. Joseph’s Catholic High School in Barrie is reporting one case, and two affected classrooms
- St. Theresa's Catholic High School in Midland is reporting one case and two affected classrooms
The MonAvenir Catholic School Board has reported two staff members and one student have tested positive at École secondaire catholique Nouvelle-Alliance in Barrie. Two student cases have been reported at ÉÉC Notre-Dame-de-la-Huronie in Collingwood. The board is also reporting one student case and affected classroom at Frère-André Catholic Elementary School in Barrie.
At the Conseil scolaire Viamonde, École secondaire Le Caron in Penetanguishene currently has two active cases. La Source Elementary School in Barrie is reporting five student cases.
