CITY OF BARRIE

The City of Barrie is now accepting applications for the Arts & Culture Investment Program.
This program strengthens Barrie’s arts and culture community through strategic investments in the work of not-for-profit arts and culture organizations.
“The City of Barrie welcomes and encourages diversity of cultural and artistic expression and practice,” commented Stephannie Schlichter, director of the economic and creative development department at the City of Barrie. “We look forward to supporting artists and creative organizations through the 2025 Arts & Culture Investment Program.”
Funding is available to eligible arts and culture organizations in two categories:
Operational streams
- Open to registered not-for-profit organizations with budgets of $75,000 or more.
- Open to registered not-for-profit organizations with budgets of less than $75,000.
Project and capacity building streams
- Projects: Open to both established and emerging not-for-profit professional or semi-professional arts and culture organizations that have been in operation for at least one year.
- Capacity building: Open to both established and emerging not-for-profit professional or semi-professional arts and culture organizations that have been in operation for at least one year.
Project and capacity building grants are for up to $5,000 and support new initiatives and special projects, as well as to support arts organizations in their growth.
The City of Barrie will be hosting two information sessions for interested applicants on Wednesday, Dec. 18 and Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 5:30 p.m. at the Sandbox Centre (24 Maple Ave.). Registration is required.
