NEW TECUMSETH – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Nottawasaga Detachment continues to seek assistance from the public to identity the suspect of an armed robbery of a local convenience store.

On Sunday, February 28 2016 at 4:06 a.m., OPP were notified of the robbery in progress at a convenience store on Young Street near King Street South, Alliston.

It was determined that a male entered the store with an edged weapon and ordered the clerk to empty the cash register.

The suspect fled on foot before police arrival. The suspect was last seen jogging on Albert Street East towards Ontario Street in Alliston.

The suspect was wearing black gloves, a dark color hoodie and grey sweat pants.                                                                                                                    

There were two witnesses to the robbery who left the scene before the police arrived. Nottawasaga OPP Detectives wish to speak to them.

Nottawasaga OPP are also releasing surveillance photographs of the suspect.
