A weekend open house marked the start of the Christmas season at Bradford Greenhouses Garden Gallery.
Located at 4346 County Rd 90, the popular spot features more than 87,000 square feet of home and garden décor. Their Christmas Open House weekend brings out those wanting to ensure their home is feeling festive.
Gabrielle Polman, the assistant store manager at Bradford Greenhouse, said staff starts getting ready in July to prepare for this popular season.
“This is the start of the decorating season and if you walk around, you can see we have a huge selection of things to make your house have the festive spirit,” said Polman. “It takes a few months to have the area complete because of the amount of stuff there is here.”
From dinnerware, stockings, plants, tree ornaments and other items, the annual Christmas Open House has something for everyone, said Polman, noting new traditions are becoming old favourites.
“We’re seeing a lot of people who are reinventing the look of their tree by adding new pieces,” said Polman. “A lot of people go with the themed tree and we have sections throughout the building that have many options for that," Polman said.
For those looking for a real Christmas tree, Bradford Greenhouse has plenty for you to strap to the top of your car.
“We go through 2,500 to 3,000 trees a year and right now they’ve been here for a couple of days and people are already starting to buy them and take them home,” said Polman.
