Elections Canada continues to recruit people to run local voting polls for Election Day on Sept. 20.
The need is heightened for the Barrie-Innisfil riding, where workers are also required before Election Day, spokesperson Réjean Grenier told BarrieToday.
The pay range is $17.22 to $23.44 per hour and people aged 16 years and over can apply.
“You work there for 12 hours on Election Day and you can make a few bucks,” said Grenier.
The experience, he added, also gives poll workers exposure to the country’s electoral system.
Poll workers are trained and get $54.65 for the training session.
In addition to the Election Day jobs, there are also vacancies in Barrie-Innisfil for early voting from Friday, Sept. 10 to Monday, Sept. 13.
