Barrie Firefighters, Barrie Police and Simcoe County Paramedics responded to a report of a furniture and contents fire at a house on Owen Street.
A fire official on scene said some clothing that was on top of a storage chest caught fire but was extinguished by the time crews arrived.
No word yet on how the fire started but police do not believe the cause is suspicious.
Firefighters checked the home and were ventilating the abode due to smoke.
No one was injured.
