A Heat Warning is in effect.

Mainly sunny today with a high 31, humidex 37.

Cloudy Friday with 60 percent chance of showers in the afternoon with risk of a thunderstorm and a high 27, humidex 36.

Mix of sun and cloud Saturday with a high 25.

Sunny Sunday and the high 26.

Here are the details of the Heat Warning issued by Environment Canada in effect for:  

  • Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
  • Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake
  • Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago

A heat episode is expected today and Friday for most regions in Southern Ontario.

Daytime temperatures will reach low thirties with afternoon humidex values in the mid to upper thirties.

Overnight lows will be near 20 degrees.

The heat episode will come to an end Friday night with the passage of a cold front.

Frequently visit neighbours, friends and older family members, especially those who are chronically ill, to make sure that they are cool and hydrated.

Never leave people or pets in your care inside a parked vehicle or in direct sunlight.

Prepare meals that don't need to be cooked in your oven.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
