Freezing drizzle advisory is in effect.

Periods of freezing drizzle ending this morning then mainly cloudy with chance of drizzle and a high of plus 2.

Here are the details of the freezing drizzle advisory issued by Environment Canada:

4:45 AM EST Wednesday 18 January 2017

Freezing drizzle advisory in effect for:

  • Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
  • Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake
  • Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago

Areas of freezing drizzle are expected or occurring.

Patchy freezing drizzle has developed overnight and is expected to persist this morning with temperatures just below zero.

Freezing drizzle will end or change to drizzle later this morning as temperatures rise above the freezing mark.

Fog patches will also dissipate later this morning.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

Freezing drizzle can produce thin, hard-to-detect layers of ice.

Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
