All school buses and vans in Simcoe County have been cancelled due to current road and visibility conditions and the forecast for poor conditions to continue.  

Schools are open.

The winter storm warning has ended and now Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement.

Forecast calling for flurries today, about 2 to 4 cm, windy and the high -8.

Chance of flurries tonight with a low -15.

Mainly cloudy Thursday and a high -5.

Here are the details of the special weather statement in effect for:

  • Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale

Reduced visibilities in lake effect flurries today.

Lake effect flurries are developing south of Georgian Bay in the wake of the snow storm.

Winds gusting to 60 or 70 km/h could result in visibilities of 400 m or less at times in snow and local blowing snow.

Motorists should be prepared for sudden reductions to visibility.
