A special weather statement is in effect warning of strong winds. 

Mainly sunny with increasing clouds late this morning, 60 percent chance of rain this afternoon then a few flurries starting.  Wind gusting up to 80 km/h early this afternoon.  Today's high plus 5.

A snow squall watch is in effect for Orillia, Midland, Coldwater, Orr Lake, Lagoon City and Washago with up to 15 cm possible in the heaviest squalls.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
  • Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake
  • Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago

Strong winds this afternoon.

Strong southwesterly winds of 50 km/h with gusts to near 80 km/h are expected to develop early this afternoon. The wind will begin to diminish early this evening.

These winds may be strong enough to cause some minor tree and building damage. A few local power outages are also possible. Driving conditions may also be difficult at times due to the strong and gusty winds.
