Multiple news sources are reporting that Gordie Howe, a Hockey Hall of Famer who played 26 seasons in the NHL and earned the nickname 'Mr. Hockey', died.
The Saskatchewan native was 88.
The Red Wings confirmed Howe's death this morning.
"Thoughts and prayers to the Howe family as Gordie Howe passes away at the age of 88. #9RIP," the team posted on Twitter.
