The IOOF Seniors Homes celebrated their staff team for their incredible work as health-care professionals with a Vegas-themed Care Week that included a delicious barbecue, games, prizes and a special performance by Elvis.
The IOOF expressed sincere thanks to their staff for their dedication to the residents, and ensuring the IOOF continues to provide essential and compassionate care.
During the week, the IOOF congratulated their dedicated staff for reaching individual years-of-service milestones, including some who have been with the organization for 20 and 25 years. Valued members of the IOOF team were celebrated for their accomplishments with a special awards reception to give thanks for their commitment to the residents.
On May 12 in honour of National Nursing Week (May 8 to 14, 2023) and the birthday of Florence Nightingale (who is recognized as the pioneer of modern nursing), the registered nurse and registered practical nurse teams commemorated the day by celebrating the residents at the IOOF who were practising nurses within their own careers. They symbolically came together to recognize each other’s commitment to caring for the health and well-being of those in need.
“We belong to one of the most caring, compassionate, flexible, versatile, fantastic and fascinating professional groups. As a registered staff, we are respected in any country, community, and the facility in which we work. When people ask why I became a nurse, my answer would always be because I get to provide care to someone every day,” reflected Veron Ash, director, resident care at IOOF Seniors Homes.
