The City of Barrie bureaucrats made a huge mistake annexing part of Innisfil.
They knew that this totally unnecessary move would cost Barrie taxpayers a lot of money to set up and maintain additional services and infrastructure.
City politicians have failed to balance the books year after year and the annexation has added an additional financial burden to be borne by already beleaguered Barrie taxpayers.
Additional staff obviously had to be hired, already adding to the many staff on the Sunshine List at city hall.
