ORILLIA – The Orillia OPP is investigating into the report of a possible weapon brought to the Orillia Secondary School in the City of Orillia.
On October 6, 2015, at approximately 8:50 a.m., the Orillia OPP initiated a lock-down of the school while officers conducted a thorough search of the school and school occupants.
No weapons were located in the school and it was deemed to be safe.
The lock-down was lifted at approximately 9:05 a.m., and lasted for 25 minutes.
The Orillia OPP would like to commend the school administration and the school board staff for their co-operation during the investigation.
As well a special thanks to all the students, parents for their patience and understanding during this difficult time.
The safety of our students and our schools is paramount and together we are ensuring that we offer the safest of environments for our children.
