GUELPH — A Barrie man was arrested Friday night after a woman was struck by a thrown beer bottle inside a downtown Guelph business, police report.
Approximately 11:35 p.m., Guelph police say the 19-year-old victim was sitting at a table with friends inside a licensed establishment when she was struck in the head by a bottle allegedly thrown by a male on the dance floor.
The two were not known to each other, according to police.
The victim was treated on scene for a cut to her head.
Staff at the business immediately reviewed surveillance footage and identified the suspect, who was still on scene.
A 19-year-old Barrie man has been charged with assault with a weapon.
