There’s a heightened level of bewitching in Barrie this Thanksgiving weekend.

The Bewitched Market is at Lion’s Gate Banquet Centre, on Blake Street, Saturday and Sunday for those looking for a psychic experience.

Angie Granzotto, 68, born in Athens, Greece, a tarot card reader and dream interpreter specializing in relationships, finances and careers, is offering her services.

Curiosity draws people to her, she said. They usually come with a question or a nagging feeling, and they want clarification or affirmation, or they have a decision to make and are unsure of what to do.

“I see it as everybody always has the answer — they already do — but they always need somebody to kind of bring it out, and that’s what we do,” said the Oshawa resident. “We do not actually give them an answer, because at the end of the day, it’s your issue. It’s up to you to decide, but we help you make that decision.

“I also believe everybody has a psychic ability, a sixth sense ... Intuitively, they’ve got it; it’s just a lot of people don’t always listen to it.”

Granzotto’s sister, Effie Dimitropoulos, also has the gift.

“We started when we were children and my mother had a gift. I come from a line, actually. My aunt’s a psychic in Greece,” Granzotto said.

“I think it’s inherently in you. You are born with that.

“It starts in children. If you really pay attention to young children, you will see psychic abilities in them.”

Granzotto notes all psychics are not the same.

“There are mediums for people who have passed away. Someone has died and they had questions they never got the chance to ask,” she said. “I don’t do that because it’s very upsetting to me, to be honest.”

But her sister, also at the Bewitched Market, does.

“I was the reluctant psychic in the family,” Granzotto said. “When I was younger, I didn’t want it. I remember being 16 years old and saying, ‘Lord, why did you give this to me? I didn’t ask for it. I don’t want all these visions coming.’”

Granzotto’s tarot card readings usually take 35 to 40 minutes, but as long as an hour, depending on the issue.

“We can’t control what comes through. That’s another thing,” she said.

Granzotto can’t do lotto numbers, however, and hopes people want something else.

“Peace and serenity — that’s what people are really looking for,” she said. “Why are we here? We’re here to ease the pain and suffering of at least one other individual on this Earth. That is why we’re here.”

The Bewitched Market runs until 5 p.m. Saturday. It will run from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday. More information, including a list of participants, can be found here.
