NEWS RELEASE
MAKING CHANGE
**********************
Making Change, a Black-led non-profit organization, is excited to announce the upcoming Vibe and Thrive Black Mentor Speaker event on Nov. 20, 2024, from 7-9 p.m., at Shak’s World in Barrie.

The free event for youth will feature prominent Black mentors from music, TV, and sports, sharing their powerful stories and lived experiences with local Black youth and empowering them to make positive choices for their futures.

Our speakers include Spider Jones (boxer, podcaster), Isan Jupiter (music host), Rasta Phil (music producer), Michael Williams (MuchMusic TV host), and Richie Peart (rapper).

To make this event even more special for our youth, Making Change is calling on local businesses to contribute free items for the youth swag bags. These bags will be handed out to all attendees, ensuring they leave with something meaningful to remember this impactful day.

How You Can Help
We are seeking donations of promotional products, gift cards, or sponsorship funds to purchase other items that could be included in these swag bags. This is an excellent opportunity for businesses to engage with the community and show support for a vital cause as a critical partner in empowering the next generation of Black leaders.

For businesses interested in contributing, please contact Laura, program director at Making Change, by email. Your support will be acknowledged in event promotions, and your brand will be featured as a Vibe & Thrive experience contributor.
